NAC Strategic Plan
Goal 1 To promote the value of apprenticeship training and certification in the North
- Promote Apprenticeship to K – 12 Learners
- Network with Youth, Industry, Northern community leaders, career service providers and their clients
Goal 2 To recruit new apprentices and trades people from among the residents of Northern Saskatchewan.
- Network with employers and employees doing the work of designated trades
- Strengthen links between trade employers and K-12 Practical Applied Arts curriculum providers and the SATCC
Goal 3 To complement and build upon the existing training initiatives
- Identify innovative methods for delivery of technical training
- Provide resources to increase success of apprentices attending technical training
Goal 4 Track and coordinate the training certification and employment of Northern apprentices, trades people and journeypersons
- Design, implement and maintain a registry
- Liaise clients with SATCC, employers, technical training deliverers and sponsors
Goal 5 Indenture apprentices in the North with Saskatchewan Apprenticeship Board
- Encourage employers and employees to support apprenticeship as a training culture
Goal 6 Foster a collaborative forum for apprenticeship stakeholders to contribute to and benefit from the apprenticeship system
- Partnership development through joint planning
- Involve stakeholders in information sharing and decision making processes
